Types of Skin Cancer: Warning Signs of Skin Cancer To Watch Out For

Want to know how to survive a recession? Let’s face it. The economy is just not as great as it used to be and the chances of finding a job (or keeping one) are just as grim. But when faced against odds like these, how do you survive a recession?

Well, you don’t have to worry about limiting your meals to just two times a day. You don’t have to buy all your clothes from the thrift shop either. Instead of spending less, why not try to earn more?

I’m talking about becoming a freelance writer. In this line of work, you can easily earn additional income without compromising too much.

1) Flexible hours

Being a freelance writer is a great way on how to survive a recession because you don’t necessarily have to give up your regular job for it. The hours are quite flexible. It’s basically up to you to manage your time well.

Employers usually give you a deadline for articles. If you’re organized enough, you can juggle both your day job and your freelance writing gig.

2) More brain than brawn

Writing also takes more brain than brawn. You don’t have to use up all your energy to write articles and meet deadlines. This makes you less tired and lessens the chance of you losing interest in everything else. It also helps exercise your mind and improves your line of thinking in the long run.

3) More fun than not

While most people don’t find their line of work fun, the same cannot be said for freelance writing. Being a freelance writer helps you survive a recession in a fun way.

Freelance writing jobs can be an exciting educational experience. You’ll learn a lot about the topic you’re writing about - be it automobiles, fashion, travel or something new. Aside from being given creative free will, you’re also able to attain more knowledge about a particular topic. Before you know it, you’re already an expert on the different kinds of car models and engines!

There are many ways on how to survive a recession. However, not all of them can be as convenient - and as fun - as freelance writing. Even if you don’t think you can write well, I strongly suggest you try it out and take every opportunity that comes your way.

Radiation Effects

Anti-oxidants can help! They supply electrons to the free radical oxygen molecules and render them neutral. Antioxidants are our mainline of defense. We need lots of them. Free radical production is on the rise as stress, pollution and radiation effects bombard our bodies.

Studies have suggested that the electromagnetic radiation affects the internal navigation system of the bee, causing it to not be able to return to the hive. The bees then die off, because they are not able to do their normal activities. This premature dying off of the bees causes the fruits and vegetables to not grow as normal, simply because pollination does not occur.

In this particular study they compared the effects of radiation from base stations used for the current mobile telephone network with the radiation effects of base stations of 3G networks. The study found that the test group exposed to third generation base station signals felt tingling sensations, got headaches, and felt nauseous. Cognitive functions such as memory and response times were actually boosted by both 3G signals and the current signals.

In this particular Dutch Government Funded Wireless Study they compared the effects of radiation from base stations used for the current mobile telephone network with the radiation effects of base stations of 3G networks. The study found that the test group exposed to third generation base station signals felt tingling sensations, got headaches, and felt nauseous.

There are many radiation protection devices available today to help you get rid of this threat that is hanging over your head every time you pick up that phone. There are wide selections of products to suit any need you might have, in many shapes, at a range of prices that will allow anyone to afford this absolutely necessary protection.

For the moment, many operators and manufacturers are playing it safe and recommending that users take precautionary action, such as alternating ears every few minutes during a long call, or taking advantage of new, low-radiation antennas and phone chips. Separate earphones and microphones are also increasingly widely used, as a way of keeping the possible radiation effects further away from the brain, as well as allowing hands-free operation of the phone.

Bee pollen has natural antioxidants that assist in the body in dealing and processing these toxins from our environment. This includes the industry pollution, as well as the foods that we ingest contain harmful pollutants, radiation effects as well as food containing chemicals and preservatives. Bee pollen is also known to contain powerful effective antibacterial properties and antiviral properties.

One can definitely not do without a cellular phone or the cellular phone antenna. Nevertheless, we can certainly take some steps to cut down the radiation effects to as minimal as possible. Children should truthfully not use cell phones unless in desperate emergencies. Whenever they have a need to talk over the phone, they had better from normal landlines.

Air burst: this is attained where the fireball does not touch the earth but is below 30km. It is blown in such a way that the fireball does not touch the earth surface. The location of these burst can be varied to obtain a balanced combination of blast, thermal and radiation effects.

This is because there are constantly new breakthroughs occurring in this realm, making it easier than ever for couples to have children.

If you are having trouble becoming pregnant and are thinking of seeking medical assistance, you might be wondering where you can find a fertility clinic. You will probably be surprised to find one in an area very near to you and this is due to the growing popularity and success of this option.

After you find a fertility clinic in your area, or more than one, you will then likely be wondering how good of a clinic it is and if you should visit a doctor there or expand your search a little further from home. When making this decision, you might jut want to schedule a consultation with a doctor at each clinic until you find one that you are comfortable with. One of the most important things during this process is making sure that you are comfortable with your doctor because it will make the whole process go much more smoothly and can help calm you nerves.

You can also ask other couples that have been in this situation if they have a recommendation of a good fertility clinic. If another couple had a successful experience and give the clinic a good recommendation then chances are good that you will also be happy with choosing this one. This can also be a good time to chat with the couple and ask if they have any tips on how you can make this process go as smoothly as possible because any help you can get can make the difference.

To be a Mother, Parenting is not easy, but possible

To be a Mother, Parenting is not easy, but possible.

Hasan Yahya, Ph.D

Daily duties, as a mother I woke up early everyday, because I have two sons to care about, to feed, to dress, and to send to school. Everyday, except Saturday and Sunday, five days a week, I have to wake up early at six O'clock am, to clean up the table in the kitchen, to heat milk, pour it on two kinds of serial, one for each child. After cleaning, feeding, dressing, we all out in the car. Ten minutes we are in front of the school. I have to get out of the car, taking the younger brother with me to send my elder son to his nursery. Chatting with the teacher a couple minutes, then left with my other son to the car. Several things to do, I have a daily list, I have to chick. I used to glue it on my refrigerator. Today I forgot it, but I still remember some items I wrote, yes, my other son have to take his shot in Ingham County clinic. Potato, Oh, we finished Potato, yes, what else, how can I remember all items, do I have to go back home to chick my list? OK, Oh yah! I have to return my pants, the color is no more accepted after I saw my neighbor dresses the same pants and the same style, and color. It was red. I have to be the only one, unique in appearance. I will change it to blue this time. I am going now toward the Mall, with my son, my pants, and cruising to Macy to make the change. Few minutes I had picked the right color and style, wall, I am lucky this time. May my son want to be fed. So I went to the food circle, French fries and chicken is his favorite. We spent almost half an hour looking at people with different ages, shapes, and colors. Sometime I feel I was lucky to have the accurate weight, especially when I see the over weight people. I think I was lucky to sit and relax against my well sometimes, because you have kids, and kids have enough time to put you on the edge in no time, you never tell why they cry in the Mall, when all people gazing at you and him. You feel embarrassed a little, but who have no kids? Let him practice his right to cry loudly, and enjoy your meal. He'll stop by himself, when his attention brought by a passing kid like him crying louder than him. So enjoy your time, we all were kids, did you forget when you were one. God, time is running, I am now thirty six, with two children, and wonderful husband. Oh, I miss my husband. He's cute like me, the most I like about him is his listening to my nonsense talks. He never said no to me. He's great. I wish all people have some one like him, as brother, father, or uncle, but not as a husband. He's mine, only mine. I feel great when I find myself talking to my husband while he's away. I feel that I see him smiling when our son cries. He takes him on his shoulder, and run with him, few moments, my son stop crying. It's a wonderful time. But I am alone now in the Mall, with my crying sun. I checked him, he needs diapers. In few minutes I changed him, and head they way back to Meyjers, the food store in our area. The amazing thing, that Meyjers need at least one hour to get through. Lines fill the eight or nine cashier lanes. Where from these people come? And why now in this time of the day while I am shopping? I need only Potato. I looked at my basket, at least seven items where there. For God's sake I need only a bag of Potato, the total merchandise was 57.69 Dollars. God, economy is getting worse, prices are going sky high. We have to live with it or quit our jobs as mothers.

Natural Stress And Anxiety Relief

Due to the fact that majority of persons hate to take drugs for their anxiety and panic disorder, they chose to use a reliable remedy for their disorders which doesn’t have any side effect. These involve aromatherapy, herbal supplements and acupuncture. Some of these are proven to be effective, especially if the anxiety is still in its early stage of attack.

Most of us get anxious at times. No human being is complete if he or she doesn’t encounter panic or anxiety disorder sometimes in their existence. It is also necessary to know that anxiety attacks are of various types. Some are extreme while others are severe anxiety. Someone that has extreme anxiety must have sustained steady attacks triggered by an inherent state like panic disorder.

Types Of Spiritual Emotion

There are two types of spiritual emotion -

  • Manifest and
  • Unmanifest.

Manifest spiritual emotion as the name suggests is when there is an apparent manifestation of spiritual emotion. We will expand on the various types of manifestation in subsequent paragraphs.

Unmanifest spiritual emotion is when there is spiritual emotion but it does not manifest or is not apparent to others.

Out of the two, unmanifest spiritual emotion is a higher state as any energy spent in the manifestation of spiritual emotion is conserved. This spiritual energy can then be used to further one's spiritual growth. It can also be used to serve God and Guru by spreading Spirituality.

Manifest spiritual emotion

When a person is experiencing spiritual emotion (bhaav) it can manifest in 8 ways. The following are the 8 ways it can manifest -

1. Becoming motionless/experiencing standstill

2. Sweating

3. Hair standing on end/goosebumps

4. Tremulous voice

5. Tremor

6. Becoming pale/blanching

7. Tears flowing from the eyes

8. Fainting

These manifestations of spiritual emotion happen effortlessly and spontaneously in the absence of any other non-spiritual contributing factor. When experiencing this state a person's demeanor is usually altered and he also experiences lack of body consciousness, mind going thoughtless by being fixed on a certain religious stimulus. It happens when there is something to precipitate a sudden increase in sattvikta (purity).

For example, tears of spiritual emotion are quite often experienced by a seeker during singing of hymns or when they remember Guru or God or when then recollect various spiritual experiences in their life. This can be classified as tears of spiritual emotion, one of the eight types of spiritual emotion. When all the above eight signs are seen simultaneously, it is said that the eight-fold saattvik spiritual emotion (ashtthasaattvik bhaav) has been aroused.

This experience of manifestation of spiritual emotion is usually short in duration but can occasionally also be of a prolonged nature. A longer duration is usually experienced by seekers at a higher spiritual level or Saints on the path of Devotion (Bhaktiyoga) when going through some exceptional spiritual experience.

Just because one experiences spiritual emotion does not necessarily mean that one is of a higher spiritual level. Also it should not be confused with physical or emotional manifestations of spiritual emotion. Refer to the article - What is the difference between normal emotion and spiritual emotion?

The Stress Of Wedding Planning

One of the most stressful times of your life could be planning your wedding. Wedding planning is difficult because of the amount of work that must be completed in a relatively short period of time. A smart bride will do what she can to enlist the help of her bridesmaids and family to reduce the amount of stress that she faces.

There are some things that the bride will want to handle on her own, but the small tasks should be delegated to other members of the wedding party. The big decisions should be handled by the bride and groom, but running errands and picking things up should be left to others. Feel free to take advantage of the bridesmaids and your family during this stressful time. That is the job of the bridesmaids.

It is important to do what you can to eliminate your stress during your wedding planning. It has been said that if a couple can get through the planning stages of their wedding without ruining their relationship then they should be able to withstand marriage. There is a reason that people say that. The pressure to get everything in place for such a big and special day is tremendous. Particularly if the wedding is a big one.

Many brides take the responsibility of every aspect of their wedding on themselves and will worry over every tiny detail. Relax and enjoy the process of wedding planning. If you can afford to hire one you should consider hiring a wedding planner. These professionals are able to take all of the pressure off of the bride and take care of every small detail for putting together a fabulous party.

Don't forget about the groom in all of this. They can certainly take on some of the responsibility for planning the wedding. Typically the groom must only show up at the wedding to perform his function, but there is no reason that they cannot do some of the work for the big day. After all, it is their wedding too. Leave some of the decision making up to the groom. Let him choose the cake or pick up the invitations.

Wedding planning doesn't have to be a stressful time for the bride alone. She can share some of that stress with everyone else and relax a little bit before her big day. If there is too much stress before the wedding there will be no enjoyment in the wedding planning process. It can be enjoyed just as much as the big day itself. And don't forget to sit back and actually enjoy your wedding when it finally arrives.

Tips For Sending Flowers To Your Man

Ladies are no longer the only ones whom love receiving flowers. 60% of men surveyed by the Society of American Florists admitted that they would like to receive flowers on Valentines Day. Now, before you ring up an order of 99 red roses, follow this guide to choose a floral arrangement that even Mars the God of War would approve:

* Occasions
Think back to the times when you would love to receive flowers: on your birthday, on special anniversaries, during down times, after a job promotion… there you have it.

* Colours
There are no hard and fast rules about what colours are appropriate for each gender but unless you are absolutely very sure that he is perfectly fine with pink and purple (even if he is absolutely secure about his masculinity, it is probably wise to add in several masculine-coloured blooms), stray away from effeminate colours like pastels, pinks and purples. There is no need to settle for the fail-safe blue, though. Choose, instead, flowers in strong, vivid and monochromatic hues like bright yellow, intense orange, fiery red and royal gold.

* Types of flowers
Like women, just about any kind of flowers – roses, tulips, lilies, sunflowers, orchids etc – are bound to touch even an alpha male. But the kinds that really appeal to them are flowers that are "sturdy" and "full of personality" like the angular birds of paradise, anthuriums or orchids.

* Floral Arrangement
Skip the fluffy big bouquets and head straight for the exotic, tropical or contemporary arrangements in linear or angular compositions. If this is your first time giving your man flowers, you can play it safe with a flower/plant dish that he can place on his desk at work or on his coffee table.

* Personal Touches
Incorporating his hobbies and interests into his floral gift will definitely earn you brownie points. If your man is into automotive, add in a car magazine. If he is a soccer fan, choose flowers in his team's colours. If he is a game freak, insert a few video games that he had been hinting at. You get the idea.

The Biology 30 Curriculum

In Science students learn about the physical world, ecology and technology. Studying science also helps develop an understanding of the many applications of science in daily life. The major ideas developed in this course are change, diversity, equilibrium and systems. Biology 30 consists of four units of study that include Systems Regulation and Development, Reproduction and Development, Cells, Chromosomes and DNA, as well as Change in Populations and Communities.

The systems and regulations unit focuses on chemical and electrical systems that control body processes to maintain balance. This unit uses the human organism as a model for studying the equilibrium between an organism's internal and external environment can be sustained by metabolic or behavioral means. These human systems maintain a level of balance through hormone production. Studying the relationship between the neural and endocrine systems helps student to understand the way in which the central and peripheral nervous systems work and how they are able to sense the environment and respond to it. They will learn that this ability is essential in maintaining equilibrium.

The reproductions and development systems unit focuses on the processes of reproduction and development. This unit studies the concept that species must reproduce themselves to ensure their survival. The processes associated with reproduction and development such as sexual and asexual reproduction are reviewed here. Humans will be used as an example. Students will learn that change can occur in the reproduction by different hormones, gamete production and the fusing of the zygote.

The cells, chromosomes and DNA unit focuses on the mechanisms for passing on genetic information and causing variation. In this unit, students examine the cell and molecular biology of mitosis and how it has limits on producing variety. They will also study meiosis; a way which organisms can have diversity in their offspring. The timing and location of meiosis is discussed. The studies of classical genetics are reviewed to show how phenotypes can change from generation to generation. DNA, RNA, and protein productions is reviewed.

The change in populations and communities looks at change as illustrated by the genetics of populations, equilibrium in populations, and at the community systems in which populations exist. This unit introduces students to genetic principles that are used to analyze population systems. As an example, students will study the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium chart. Population growth and growth strategies are talked about. Populations of different organisms exist in communities that change over time as a result of natural or artificial events.

These are the four basic topics that will be covered in Biology 30. The student will be expected to fully understand and beable to demontrate their understanding through a series of labs, tests and projects. A diploma exam will be completed at the end of the course.

Contact Lenses: A Bird’S Eye View

A contact lens is basically a thin, transparent disc made of plastic crafted to fit in the cornea of the eye.
Types of contact lenses: the contact lenses which are available in today’s market can be categorized into four basic types. Such as, disposable contact lenses, contactlenzen for extended wear, contact lenses for flexible wear and gas permeable contact lenses. Another type is also available which is for special eye care needs.
Here’s a list of helpful info for the first time contact lens wearer.
Disposable lenses: disposable contact lenses are made for those people who don’t have time to do the daily cleaning of the lenses. Some disposable lenses are meant to be changed daily while some others need weekly or monthly dispose. Annually disposable contactlenzen are also available. The annual contact lenses are made of a material which is soft and allows oxygen into the eyes.
Gas permeable or Rigid gas permeable or Oxygen permeable contact lenses: These kinds of lenses provide much clearer vision, allowing more oxygen into the eye. GP or RGP lenses are much easy to clean and last for a longer time than their other counterparts. But, these lenses are not easily adaptable. It takes time.
Extended or flexible wear contact lenses: extended wear contactlenzen can be worn for 30 days at a stretch. Aimed at people who are always on the go, these lenses don’t need everyday cleaning. You can even sleep wearing a flexible contact lens. Made of soft, flexible plastic, this kind of contact lenses are extremely comfortable and lets more oxygen to get into the eye.
Toric lenses: This kind of a contact lens is specially designed to cure an eye problem called ‘Astigmatism’. They come in two varieties namely, soft and gas permeable. The level of comfort and clarity of vision for toric lenses are same as other types of contactlenzen.
Wearing a contact lens:
First, you should always wash and dry your hands properly before touching the contact. Then put the lens on your fingertips (cup side up) and pour the liquid on it. Watch the lens closely for any kind of foreign particle. Then hold up your upper eyelid with a finger and pull your lower eyelid with another one. Look up and place the lens on the white portion of your eye. Then release your lower eyelid so that it goes up. Then look down at the floor and close your eyes for a minute. If you are getting a blurred vision, apply a few drops of the fluid onto your lenses.
Removing a contact lens:
First bend over and place your palm under the eye as if to catch something. Look down and move your finger upward and downward to take out the lens from your eye. Then clean with the solution to disinfect the lens. Always repeat all the steps for wearing and removing a contactlenzen because if you skip a step, you might end up having an infection in the eye.

Quitting Smoking With Hypnosis ?

Quit smoking hypnosis is slowly gaining grounds as many ex-smokers would attest to its effectiveness. There are several smokers who don't mind testifying that they were cured from their addiction after meeting and having sessions with a hypnotist who specializes in hypnotizing smokers.

There are believers but there are also some skeptics but the effectiveness of hypnotism should not be underestimated. As long as it helps smokers become ex-smokers, it is indeed worth a try.

The effect of hypnotism to a human brain has long been debated by scientists. Hypnotism is nothing new to us but the use of hypnotism to help people stop their urge to smoke is still relatively new. We all heard of stories about people suddenly acting like animals simply because their hypnotist instructs them so, so why won't they stop smoking if the hypnotist tells them so?

Quit smoking hypnosis is not for all smokers though. Some would be cured almost instantly while some won't ever see any results from it. It really depends on the person if he/she truly believes that hypnotism would work on them. If it works then they spared themselves of the withdrawal symptoms experienced by smokers who want to kick the habit, if it doesn't work for them then at least they tried it and could brag about being hypnotized to their friends.

Bottom line here is this, there are different ways to quit smoking and there's nothing wrong if you try them out as long as they are safe. Make sure if ever you decide to go to a hypnotist that it's a reputable hypnotist as hypnotism can trigger negative effects on you if the hypnotist would play around with your brain's system. Don't entrust yourself to someone who only plays around with hypnotism but trust the reputable and well-experienced ones only.

Nutritional Curcumin—Can it Benefit You?

Despite it not being on the list of substances necessary for our survival, nutritional curcumin can certainly help us to prevent many of the more common ailments and diseases, and keep us healthier in the process.

It has been used for centuries in the East to cure many ailments and as a preventative measure against them. It is the active ingredient of turmeric, and gives it its strong yellow color and potent taste.

It has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which help to fight free radicals that damage healthy cells and cause disease and premature aging. So even though nutritional curcumin isn't essential for our survival, as in if we didn't have it we would still function normally, it is being shown to prevent cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

So maybe it is fast becoming essential to us as it has been to the Indians and Chinese!

Other benefits include protection from heart disease, lowering of bad cholesterol and helping to detoxify the body through improved liver function.

Improved memory and sharper thinking have also been proven which is why it is helping in the battle against Alzheimer's, and with over half of us expected to get some kind of dementia, this is really good news.

I know it may seem a little overwhelming just how many things it can help with, but the research backs it up, with many more discoveries just around the corner!

If you would like to include it in your diet to get all these benefits, take it in a high quality nutritional supplement as I do, as it is not easily absorbed by the body naturally. Make sure piperine from black pepper is present in the mix as this will dramatically improve the absorption, and therefore the benefits to you.

Nutritional curcumin extract should be 98% pure, don't settle for anything less as you will miss out on some of the benefits, which as you have read are simply amazing.

Visit my website today if you would like to learn more about the synergistic health supplements which I personally take, including curcumin.

Do We Create Our Own Panic Attacks?

The last thing panic sufferers would like to hear is that they are actually creating their own Panic Attacks. When I first came across the suggestion, I thought it was ludicrous. "Why on earth would I want to create my own attack?" But as I was studying the nature of anxiety and panic attacks, during my recovery, the sobering -- somewhat bitter -- truth was starring me right in my face. Unpleasant as it may be to acknowledge, it is a fact; we do create our own attacks.

The purpose of this article is to help you dissect the progression of a panic attack from inception to a full blown attack so you, too, can become aware of the role that you play in the creation of your own attacks and seek the proper treatment.

Panic attacks manifest as a result of our distorted thinking, even though to us they may seem to appear out of nowhere.

When we understand how panic attacks are born it becomes clear that the attack itself is actually a normal emotional response to a barrage of physical symptoms, caused by anxiety. And although those bodily sensations are never dangerous, it is our belief and conviction to the contrary that hasten and bring about the attacks.

The Problem Is In Your Perception and Interpretation. After his first attack in a supermarket Joe had developed an acute fear of going to shop at that store. One morning, before leaving the house, his wife hands him a shopping list and asks him to make sure he takes care of it before she returns.

The thought that he has to revisit that supermarket runs shivers through his spine. He is getting anxious, but he decides to dare it anyway. The supermarket is just down the block, but before he even arrives he begins to feel his heart racing. He gets scared and tells himself "I am going to have a heart attack."

He experiences lightheadedness and the first thought that crosses his mind is: "I am going to faint."

His anxiety intensifies, producing even more physical sensations. Thoughts of doom and gloom rush through his mind: "I will lose control and do something crazy. I will faint before I make it home," he tells himself >>> Panic!

What went wrong? Why did he panic?

The answer is simple: Joe misinterpreted his bodily sensations; he really believed his life was in peril.

Anxiety produces different bodily symptoms, all of which are associated with the fight and flight response. Here are some:

• Racing heart
• Feeling weak, faint or light headed
• Tingling or numbness in the hands and fingers
• Sweaty or having chills
• Chest pains
• Breathing difficulties and others

None of these symptoms is ever dangerous; Panic attacks never causes you to hav a heart attack, faint, lose control, suffocate, or go crazy. Never! and it is scientifically proven.

So What to Do?

A good place to begin is to recall all the horrible thoughts you have had of all the catastrophic things you told yourself were going to happen to you when you were experiencing high anxiety. Had any one of them ever manifested? You have never fainted, lost control, had a heart attack or suffocated as a result of any of your attacks. And… you are still sane.

Recovery is possible only when you realize and are able to believe on a deeper level that the physical symptoms are produced by your anxiety and that they are not going to harm you no matter what. When such a conviction is established you no longer fear the symptoms and once your fear is gone so do the attacks.

Menopause Symptoms: Know When Your Body Is Changing

As your body matures and your hormone levels change, it can be a frightening experience unless you are aware of what is happening. Nearly 75% of all women will notice some type of symptoms of menopause.

These symptoms generally do not all appear at one time. They vary in degrees and occur over a period of time as the body goes through the transition from regular menstrual cycles and hormone production to the cessation of menstruation and a decrease in hormone production.

The symptoms typically start years before menopause. They begin to appear as hormone production starts to slow down. Women will notice these symptoms in the beginning stages of menopause, called perimenopause:

  • Hot flashes - hot flashes with sweats and chills are a common symptom of menopause. This is due to your hormone levels fluctuating and your body having a hard time regulating its temperature.
  • Sleep disturbances -sleep disturbances are usually due to the hot flashes. Most hot flashes occur during the night and can be severe enough to wake you up.
  • Mood swings - mood swings associated with menopause range from irritability to depression. Sudden tears are not uncommon
  • Lowered libido - During menopause your libido may not be as great as before. A woman's body is not only going through hormonal changes, it is physically changing as well. You may experience discomfort during intercourse due to some of the changes.
  • Irregular menstrual cycle - the most common sign of menopause or of impending menopause is the menstrual cycle becoming irregular. The flow of the menses may also become lighter.
  • Fatigue - Dr. David S. Bell of Harvard Medical School cites fatigue as second only to pain in symptoms of menopause seen in
  • Weight gain - there is a great deal of controversy in the medical field as to whether or not the weight gained during menopause is a result of menopause itself or a result of a slowing metabolism due to age.
  • Bone loss - during the perimenopausal years, rapid bone loss is a common occurrence. Although there is no direct pain associated with it, there is an increased rate of bone fractures and osteoporosis.

When these symptoms begin to appear, you should make an appointment for a full examination with your family doctor or gynecologist. You should make sure you are following the proper advice for alleviating your symptoms and for not becoming pregnant during perimenopause.

Symptoms are your body's way of alerting you to changes that are coming. Recognizing and knowing your body goes a long way in being prepared for the changes that are going to occur.

Prevent menopause symptoms today! Don’t wait another minute to feel better and more like yourself. Manage your menopause symptoms now and don’t wait.

Happiness: The Secret To A Happy Life

What is the secret to being really happy?

It's simple really, just choose to be happy.

Happiness is your right and you can be happy all the time if you want.

The more you choose to be happy the happier you will be. The more often you choose to be happy the happier you will be. The bigger the happiness you choose the happier you will be. How can you be happier? Just chose to be happier, more often and in bigger amounts.

Unhappy people are only unhappy because the chose to be unhappy. They link unhappiness to many things in their life. You chose to be happy, link happiness to many things in your life.

The bus is late? The unhappy person sees this as a source of unhappiness. Not you. The powerfully positive person, the happy person, like you, chooses to make the bus being late a source of happiness. You've longer to enjoy people watching the others in the queue, or listening to your favourite tracks on your phone, or reading the book you are enjoying.

You're going to arrive late? The unhappy person sees this as a source of unhappiness. Not you. The powerfully positive person, the happy person, like you, chooses being late as a source of happiness. Your boss gets to realise that you are normally a punctual person, as being late is unusual for you. You show your boss you're a conscientious worker by making up the time without being asked. And, by being late, you miss the early morning queue for the kettle.

The utility bill arrives, and is much more than expected? The unhappy person sees this as a source of unhappiness. Not you. The powerfully positive person, the happy person, like you, chooses an unexpectedly large bill as a source of happiness. It's a chance for you to use some of your savings to pay it off, and this gives you the opportunity to reflect on just how much you've managed to save up, and just how smart you were to save. It's an opportunity for you to say "Help!" and then to figure out new ways of getting some additional income into your household, and in the process learn new skills, that you'll have forever, and meet new people.

Choosing to be happy is your choice. It sounds like I'm stating the obvious, but I am often surprised at the number of people I talk to who only really grasp this when I spell it out clearly to them. They have a little eureka moment. Before such a moment, while intellectually they know their happiness is their responsibility, in practice they are acting as if it's the responsibility of everybody else. They blame the government, their family, their neighbours, or the people stuck in the queue ahead of them for their unhappiness, and not themselves.

After their little moment of revelation, I can see that they now know in both their head and heart, that despite what's happening around them, it's up to them how they react to it. It's up to them to:- choose to be happy.

Types Of Ego (Aham)

The Lord's ego

This is a state of no ego, i.e. the ego of the person is literally 0. This state is found in Saints of 100% spiritual level when They are in a completely thoughtless state, merged with God. Hence all tasks that happen through such a person are mere acts (kriyaa) not actions (karma) as they happen totally as per God's wish. The hallmark of such Saints is their perpetual state of Bliss even in the face of extreme adversity in Their worldly lives.

Man's ego

Man's ego is again broadly divided into 2 subtypes:

Pure ego

This is a state of traces of ego seen in Saints of the highest order when They are not in complete communion with God. These Saints have just a mere awareness of one's existence. This trace ego is required for the sustenance of the body functions.

Pure ego can be understood as having the following attitudes:

  1. Considering oneself to be distinct or separate from Brahman (God principle), that is harboring awareness of the self through duality.
  2. Having awareness of one's existence.
  3. Harboring the spiritual emotion (bhaav) that ‘I belong to others and all are mine'.
  4. Even this ego persists only as long as there is existence of the physical body. It ceases to exist with the cessation of the bodily existence of such Saints.

Impure ego

This type of ego is what most of us experience. Almost all of us identify with our physical body, or feelings and emotions and feel pride in our intellect. This is due to various impressions in the centers of the subtle body like temperamental characteristics, desires, likes and dislikes, etc. Depending on thoughts and emotions, this ego can be either saattvik (sattva predominant), raajasik (raja predominant) or taamasik (tama predominant).

Taamasik ego: Ego which is subtle basic tama predominant is called taamasik ego, e.g. believing only in one's own capability.

Raajasik ego: Subtle basic raja predominant ego is called raajasik ego, e.g. constantly striving for happiness.

Saattvik ego: Ego which is predominant in the subtle basic sattva component is called saattvik ego, e.g. ego about sacrifice is saattvik in nature.

Types according to the proportion of ego

On a scale of 0-100%, the ego of God or the Saints at 100% spiritual level when in a state of complete communion with God is 0%. The ego of the subtle sorcerer (mantrik) of the highest strength from the 7th region of Hell (Paataal) is 100%. On this scale, the ego of an average individual is 30%. Adolf Hitler's ego was 60%.

(Please note that by ‘average individual' we mean a person who is average spiritually. In his worldly life this individual could be a billionaire, a head of state or a celebrity from show business.)

Depending on the proportion of ego on a scale of 0-100 it can be classified as follows:

Ego related to medium to higher-level ghost: 30 -100%

High ego: 20-30%

Medium ego: 15-20%

Low ego: 10-15%

Highest order Saints: 0-5%

Meditation For Spiritual & Psychic Development

Meditation is the most powerful tool available to us when it comes to developing spiritually and psychically. For this reason meditation is used extensively in all kinds of psychic development courses.

A quote by Yogananda (A pioneer of Yoga in the West). "Meditation, or consciousness focused upon itself, is the ultimate revealer of who you really are, and what you truly are. You can discover an inner guidance within yourself, and that inner guidance will guide you to the destination you need to go. You have already been guided to many things which are opening you to be aware, but the greatest tool for self knowledge is meditation".

What is Meditation.

During our day our minds are constantly active in the process of thinking. There is a constant sensory input that comes from living our lives. Whether we are watching television, reading or even having a conversation, with everything that we do we are constantly engaging in inner thought. We are so used to doing this that we are not usually fully aware of all of the thought activity that is going on. This constant churning of the mind can make our thoughts clouded thereby making it harder for us to concentrate or focus on a single thing.

Meditation allows us to calm the mind and reduce the activity and inner conversation that we have with ourselves. This helps to clear the mind and allows us to become more focused. We experience a sense of inner peace and relaxation and our minds will feel refreshed.

"When the sea is rough, sediment is churned up and the water becomes murky, but when the wind dies down the mud gradually settles the water becomes clear." (www.aboutmeditation.org)

Why Meditate.

The main reason for meditation in psychic development is to make the mind as calm and quiet as possible thus allowing us to better connect to the spirit world and our higher self's. The higher self is our existence in the higher dimensions or the spirit world, otherwise known as our soul.

We all have a connection to our soul but the strength of that connection is weakened by the continual chatter of our conscious thoughts. The connection becomes stronger when our conscious mind closes down when we are asleep. This is why our dreams are important, however it is often difficult to remember our dreams and even when we do it can be difficult to understand the messages within them.

When we meditate we can calm the mind and strengthen the connection to the higher realms and become closer to spirit but because we are still awake we can remember and understand what we find there. This makes meditation the most powerful tool in understanding our self's, our lives and the reasons why we are here and what we need to learn. Through meditation we strengthen our intuition and the knowledge of our higher self's will come through.

Meditation Techniques.

Meditation involves concentrating on something, to focus the attention of the mind and thus help prevent the random thoughts and chatter that is usually going on. This may be something that is looked at like a candle flame or a picture but it is often something that is listened too. This can include a single repetitive sound like our own breath or repeating a mantra to reach a state of deep relaxation where the mind will become open and lucid.

More specific results can be gained by listening to a guided visualisation, where we use our imagination to visualise ourselves in a particular place or situation according to what we hear. This is usually followed by a period of silence which creates a space where our higher self can come through and information can be passed into our conscious mind. The point of the visualisation before this is to take our mind to a specific place so that we can gain specific information.

There are also guided visualisations that are used to work with the various energies that are contained within us.

Some meditation techniques will allow your mind to reach various states of consciousness and may take you to higher realms and dimensions.

Best Way to Meditate.

For the best results you should set aside a particular spot that will be used every time you meditate. It should be a quiet place where there are no distractions.

You should be comfortable to a point where you able to be still for a long time but not so comfortable that you are likely to fall asleep. Many people find that the best way to do this is to sit up straight on a chair.

If possible you should meditate before a meal rather than just after eating.

Ideally the best time of day to meditate is early in the morning. Although meditation is beneficial to us whatever time of day we choose. It is said that early morning meditation is more effective as our mind is still relatively quiet after sleep and before the hustle and bustle of the day has begun. However it is much more important that you have plenty of time in which to meditate. If you are worried about how long you are spending and thinking about where you need to be or what you need to get done then you will not be able to relax properly.

Physiological Effects.

Meditation is said to reduce stress as well as lowering blood pressure and pulse rate and decreasing metabolic rate. In other words it not only calms the mind, but also calms the body as well

The True Islamic Morals

Some people who say they are acting in the name of religion may misunderstand their religion or practice it wrongly. For this reason, it is a mistake to form any idea of that religion from the activities of these people. The best way to understand Islam is through its holy source.

The holy source of Islam is the Qur'an; and the model of morality in the Qur'an is completely different from the image of it formed in the minds of some westerners. The Qur'an is based on the concepts of morality, love, compassion, mercy, modesty, self-sacrifice, tolerance and peace, and a Muslim who truly lives according to these moral precepts is highly refined, thoughtful, tolerant, trustworthy and accommodating. To those around him he gives love, respect, peace of mind and a sense of the joy of life.

Islam Is A Religion Of Peace And Well-Being

The word Islam has the same meaning as "peace" in Arabic. Islam is a religion that came down to offer humanity a life filled with the peace and well-being in which God's eternal mercy and compassion is manifested in the world. God invites all people to accept the moral teachings of the Qur'an as a model whereby mercy, compassion, tolerance and peace may be experienced in the world. In Surat al-Baqara verse 208, this command is given:

You who believe! Enter absolutely into peace (Islam). Do not follow in the footsteps of Satan. He is an outright enemy to you.

As we see in this verse, people will experience well-being and happiness by living according to the moral teaching of the Qur'an.

God Condemns Mischief

God has commanded humanity to avoid evil; he has forbidden immorality, rebellion, cruelty, aggressiveness, murder and bloodshed. Those who do not obey this command of God are walking in the steps of Satan, as it says in the verse above, and have adopted an attitude that God has clearly declared unlawful. Of the many verses that bear on this subject, here are only two:

But as for those who break God's contract after it has been agreed and sever what God has commanded to be joined, and cause corruption in the earth, the curse will be upon them. They will have the Evil Abode. (Surat ar-Ra'd: 25)

Seek the abode of the hereafter with what God has given you, without forgetting your portion of the world. And do good as God has been good to you. And do not seek to cause mischief on earth. God does not love mischief makers.' (Surat al-Qasas: 77)

As we can see, God has forbidden every kind of mischievous acts in the religion of Islam including terrorism and violence, and condemned those who commit such deeds. A Muslim lends beauty to the world and improves it.

Islam Defends Tolerance And Freedom Of Speech

Islam is a religion which fosters freedom of life, ideas and thought. It has forbidden tension and conflict among people, calumny, suspicion and even having negative thoughts about another individual.

Islam has not only forbidden terror and violence, but also even the slightest imposition of any idea on another human being.

There is no compulsion in religion. Right guidance has become clearly distinct from error. Anyone who rejects false gods and believes in God has grasped the Firmest Handhold, which will never give way. God is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (Surat al-Baqara: 256)

So remind, you need only to remind. You cannot compel them to believe. (Surat al-Ghashiyah: 22)

To force anyone to believe in a religion or to practice it, is against the spirit and essence of Islam. Because it is necessary that faith be accepted with free will and conscience. Of course, Muslims may urge one another to keep the moral precepts taught in the Qur'an, but they never use compulsion. In any case, an individual cannot be induced to the practice of religion by either threat or offering him a worldly privilege.

Let us imagine a completely opposite model of society. For example, a world in which people are forced by law to practice religion. Such a model of society is completely contrary to Islam because faith and worship have value only when they are directed toward God. If there were a system that forced people to believe and worship, people would be religious only out of fear of the system. What is acceptable from the point of view of religion is that religion be practiced in an environment where freedom of conscience is permitted, and that it be practiced only for the approval of God.

God Has Made The Killing Of Innocent People Unlawful

According to the Qur'an, one of the greatest sins is to kill a human being who has committed no fault:

...If someone kills another person - unless it is in retaliation for someone else or for causing corruption in the earth - it is as if he had murdered all mankind. And if anyone gives life to another person, it is as if he had given life to all mankind. Our Messengers came to them with Clear Signs but even after that many of them committed outrages in the earth. (Surat al-Ma'ida: 32)

Those who do not call on any other deity together with God and do not kill anyone God has made inviolate, except with the right to do so, and do not fornicate; anyone who does that will receive an evil punishment. (Surat al-Furqan: 68)

As we can see in the verses above, those who kill innocent human beings without a cause are threatened with evil punishment. God has revealed that killing one person is as great a sin as killing all mankind. Anyone who respected the prerogatives of God would not do harm to even one individual, let alone murdering thousands of innocent people. Those who think that they will escape justice and punishment in this world will never escape the account they must give in the Presence of God on the Last Day. So, those believers who know they will give an account to God after their death, will be very careful about respecting the limits God has established.

God Commands Believers To Be Compassionate And Merciful

In this verse, Muslim morality is explained:

...To be one of those who believe and urge each other to steadfastness and urge each other to compassion. Those are the Companions of the Right. (Surat al-Balad: 17-18)

As we see in this verse, one of the most important moral precepts that God has sent down to His servants so that they may receive salvation and mercy and attain Paradise, is to "urge each other to compassion".

Islam as described in the Qur'an is a modern, enlightened, progressive religion. A Muslim is above all a person of peace; he is tolerant with a democratic spirit, cultured, enlightened, honest, knowledgable about art and science and civilized.

A Muslim educated in the fine moral teaching of the Qur'an, approaches everyone with the love that Islam expects. He shows respect for every idea and he values art and aesthetics. He is conciliatory in the face of every event, diminishing tension and restoring amity. In societies composed of individuals such as this, there will be a higher civilization, a higher social morality, more joy, happiness, justice, security, abundance and blessings than in the most modern nations of the world today.

God Has Commanded Tolerance And Forgiveness

Surat al-A'raf, verse 199, which says "practice forgiveness", expresses the concept of forgiveness and tolerance which is one of the basic principles of the religion of Islam.

When we look at Islamic history, we can see clearly how Muslims established this important precept of the moral teaching of the Qur'an in their social life. At every point in their advance, Muslims destroyed unlawful practices and created a free and tolerant environment. In the areas of religion, language and culture, they made it possible for people totally opposite to each other to live under the same roof in freedom and peace, thereby giving to those subject to them the advantages of knowledge, wealth and position. Likewise, one of the most important reasons that the large and widespread Ottoman Empire was able to sustain its existence for so many centuries was that its way of life was directed by the tolerance and understanding brought by Islam. For centuries Muslims have been characterized by their tolerance and compassion. In every period of time they have been the most just and merciful of people. All ethnic groups within this multi-national community freely practiced the religions they have followed for years and enjoyed every opportunity to live in their own cultures and worship in their own way.

Indeed, the particular tolerance of Muslims, when practiced as commanded in the Qur'an, can alone bring peace and well-being to the whole world. The Qur'an refers to this particular kind of tolerance:

A good action and a bad action are not the same. Repel the bad with something better and, if there is enmity between you and someone else, he will be like a bosom friend. (Surat al-Fussilat: 34)

Conclusion

All this shows that the moral teaching offered to humanity by Islam is one that will bring peace, happiness and justice to the world. The barbarism that is happening in the world today under the name of "Islamic Terrorism" is completely removed from the moral teachings of the Qur'an; it is the work of ignorant, bigoted people, criminals who have nothing to do with religion. The solution which will applied against these individuals and groups who are trying to commit their deeds of savagery under the guise of Islam, will be the instruction of people in the true moral teaching of Islam.

In other words, the religion of Islam and the moral teaching of the Qur'an are not the supporters of terrorism and the terrorists, but the remedy by which the world can be saved from the scourge of terrorism.

Green Tea For Health!

We should all be grateful to the ancient Chinese for introducing to us the many wonders of the simple yet pleasurable cup of green tea.

For hundreds of years, green tea was used to relieve headaches and depression in China. The habit of drinking tea has been passed on and today it is becoming popular because of the many benefits being discovered by regularly drinking this relaxing drink.

Tea comes in many forms and varieties, but there are three uniquely different types of tea.

All tea, whether black, green, or red, comes from the leaves of a warm weather evergreen called Camellia Sinensis. The difference comes in when the leaves are processed.

The longer the leaves are processed, the darker the tea becomes. Thus, green tea is the kind which has undergone the least amount of processing.

Processing of green tea usually involves quickly steaming the leaves, while black and red teas are usually dried, crushed and fermented which makes them seem stronger and more potent.

Don't be fooled by this obvious feature, as many believe that the closer it is to its natural state, the more valuable the medicinal and healing properties.

All tea is known to contain polyphenols which is known for giving tea its antioxidant properties and antioxidants are believed to protect our bodies from free radical damage.

The measure of antioxidants is known as the ORAC score and tea has been found to rank higher than many fruits and vegetables, so you should seriously consider including tea in your everyday diet.

In addition to preventing unwanted blood clotting, it has been shown that polyphenols may lower cholesterol levels. Drinking four to six cups a day may also decrease the risk of gastric, esophageal and skin cancers. A simple internet search will give you a long list of ailments, aches, and pains that can be cured through the daily intake of this non-prescription drink.

Some of the more popular ailments that can be cured are cancer, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and impaired immune functions.

Drinking tea also aids us against digestive disorders, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's while increasing metabolism and fat oxidation. It is even said that green tea helps prevent tooth decay because it kills the bacteria which causes dental plaque.

No matter what reason you might have for drinking green tea, it is clear that you can derive some benefit from daily consumption.

It should be noted that many of today's more marketable "herbal teas" may or may not be tea at all as many of these products are blends of herbs and spices with other plant parts included for flavoring.

These do not offer the health promoting qualities of Camellia Sinensis. You should read ingredients carefully to make certain that you are getting the product that you expect.

New Teacher And Autism

Autistic children are reluctant to accept changes and can become confused, anxious and sometimes aggressive when routines or situations change.

One change: new teacher and autism is a complex situation of acceptance both on the part of the autistic educator and autistic student.

A new class of students is sometimes quite a difficult transition, getting to know names, understand friendships, becoming accustomed to the wants and needs of the students can take some time.

For an autistic educator a new class with an autistic student can also be stressful. Most of your time and efforts may well be taken up with finding strategies to help the autistic student accept you and settle back into classroom routines.

Autistic children like routines, sameness and structure and may become anxious when any of these change.

A good point to remember is that autistic children have poor social skills and lack the ability to mind read or understand facial expressions or body language, so it wont work telling them jokes, smiling, nodding and other facial expressions, or trying to make them laugh, they just simply wont understand you.

There are help and autism resources available to help with subjects like new teacher and autism as well as other social skills an autistic student will need in school.

It will help if the autistic student is aware of the change to his / her teacher and has been given support to understand why and when this will be happening.

The appropriate autism resources for this are something called autism social stories; they will help explain the change giving key focus to the main points, i.e. why, what were and when; helping the autistic child understand the impending change and hopefully make the transition easier and less stressful.

It would be a good idea to ensure that the leaving teacher has implemented these autism resources and has explained to the autistic student why he is leaving and why you are starting with the help of the autism social skills stories.

New teacher and autism social skills stories can be downloaded and used to help make the situation less confusing for the autistic student.

Download autism social stories for this and other school related social skills stories all designed to help autistic children find better coping strategies whilst at school.

Social skills stories can help all autistic children with social situations they struggle to understand or find stressful.
